In 1991, Ken Howe was working as general manager of a local transportation company overseeing the day-to-day operations. Knowing it was time to make change, Ken opened Howe Freightways, Inc. on May 1, 1991. Today, the company has a 45-truck fleet specializing in flatbed trucking and servicing the contiguous 48 states with ninety percent of the hauls within a 500-mile radius of Rockford, Illinois.
Ken’s philosophy for success is simple. He believes that the number one asset of any company is the people. Whether it is the drivers, support staff, customers or vendors, Ken surrounds himself with the best in class so that Howe Freightways can deliver the best in class service to customers with every load.
