In 1977, Jerry Churchill had been a very successful freight salesman in the Michigan – Ontario area for more than 6 years. When the opportunity came along to be an agent for a nationwide company, he jumped at the chance, and Churchill Transportation was born. With a small office in Dearborn, MI., and a loyal customer following, Churchill became a highly successful freight broker specializing in Canadian freight moving between the U.S. and Canada. In 1978 they moved to the present location in Detroit. Progress was slow but successful and in 1984 began to develop a relationship with the Chrysler Corporation.
